Event Description

Create your own handcrafted sterling silver ring in this beginner-friendly introduction to silversmithing.

Led by 2026 Creative Spirit of the North Awardee Jane Dandron Holtz, this hands-on workshop introduces participants to simple metalsmithing techniques including measuring, shaping, hammering, texturing, and hand-stamping a personalized sterling silver ring.

Designed to be approachable, welcoming, and creatively satisfying, this class is ideal for complete beginners and curious makers alike. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a finished wearable piece they made themselves.

Participants will:

• Learn foundational silversmithing techniques

• Measure and size a ring

• Shape, texture, and stamp silver

• Form and finish a handcrafted sterling silver ring

• Leave with a finished piece ready to wear

About the Instructor

Jane Dandron Holtz is Northern Lakes Arts Association’s 2026 Creative Spirit of the North Awardee, recognized for their imaginative, community-centered artistic practice and her ability to make visual art feel playful, welcoming, and accessible.

Their work spans puppetry, printmaking, jewelry, and interdisciplinary visual art, inviting participants of all backgrounds to explore creativity through curiosity, craft, and connection.
