90th Anniversary of the State Theater

Come celebrate with us! On Friday, September 4, Ely’s Historic State Theater will be celebrating its 90th birthday. An Ely dress up or come as you are event,  designed to celebrate the State Theater that has welcomed generations of people through the doors and kept arts, film, and community life active in downtown Ely.

Your $50 ticket gets you:

• Cocktail hour with delicacies from Boundary Waters Catering in the 3rd Space lounge.
• Specially crafted 1930’s/1940’s cocktails, as well as our usual wine, and beer selections for purchase. (5:30-6:45 pm)
• The Sectionals performance in the State, followed by the world premiere of a short film by Brett Ross with interviews of important people about the theater, followed by welcome remarks. (7:00-8:00 pm)
• Lighting of the ceremonial birthday cake, complete with champagne and a cupcake (8:00-8:30 pm)
• Music and maybe even some dancing! (8:30-9:30 pm.)
